About our Performance Framework

What is our

Performance Framework

and why is it so effective?

Our Strategic Performance Framework provides organisations with a structure to help them assess their current reality and then encourages them to strategically position themselves for success by deep-diving into each performance area to gain clarity and strategy for improvement.

For new organisations the framework can be used from the outset to develop the business plan, ensuring that each mission-critical sector is looked at and understood at inception and reviewed as the organisation starts to grow.

For established organisations, the 6P Framework is designed to be used to review the elements providing management insight into specific areas which are ripe for organisational development at any given time.

Isn’t the framework simplistic? Yes, and no!

For any framework to be useful, it needs to be clear and relevant to the organisation it is serving. By identifying specific areas of mission readiness and execution and defining what these look like in an organisation’s specific context, the framework comes to life and starts to bring order into what might otherwise look like chaos. PerformanceNinja works with you to unlock each area, and formulate an action plan to tackle problem areas.

Without mission readiness in terms of clarity of purpose, understanding your value proposition and having the right people in the right place doing those things which bring life rather than cause them to be frustrated, the mission execution stage will always be fraught with difficulties. Similarly, your organisation can have the best production techniques, fantastic processes and huge potential, but unless it is mission-ready, it will be misunderstood by your clients and poorly represented by your staff.

Is it possible to look at the P’s in isolation?

Absolutely, and at times this is the right thing to do. But we need to recognise that each of the P’s is to a certain extent reliant on the others, and so even in a project to look at one P in isolation, reference to the others is inevitable.

Do you use other tools?

Our PerformanceNinja has extensive experience in developing organisations and has a wealth of frameworks, models and tools at his disposal. We understand that one size does not fit all, and so carefully choose the tools that we believe will enable you to take your organisation to the next level.

People

It is often said that people are an organisation’s biggest or most valuable asset, and yet there are many instances where this is simply not true. Consider, the square pegs in round holes, the underperformers, the clock-watchers, the gossips and those who are just disengaged from the organisation's purpose, values and vision. These people are liabilities rather than assets, eroding your brand rather than enhancing it, bringing high cost rather than added value.

What would your organisation look like if you could see your employees and subcontractors aligned with your purpose, living out your values and committed to seeing your vision fulfilled?

Purpose

Why do you exist? What is your raison d’être?

Many businesses are started with the mindset of making a profit, however, profit is just one of many organisational outputs. Making a profit will not make you a household name, nor ensure longevity for your business; it is at best temporary and can erode very quickly.

Whatever your offer, 21st-century consumers are looking for value that goes beyond price and stretches into agendas including environmental impact, social responsibility, and alignment with their personal values.

Your purpose relates to your “Why” as a business. To quote Simon Sinek, “People don’t buy what you do or how you do it, they buy WHY you do it.”

Organisations that really understand their WHY enjoy:

  • Customer loyalty
  • Industry credibility
  • Staff and stakeholder engagement

Proposition

Or more simply what do you offer, how do you offer it and why should customers choose you.

Understanding your business proposition is key to your marketing message, it should differentiate you from your competitors and encourage prospective customers to choose you above them.

Your business proposition needs to be authentic and believable, clear, and compelling, visible and understood if it is to serve your organisation well.

Remember, your proposition is not about you, it is about your customer and so it is vital to get it right.

|

PerformanceNinja – helps organisations understand their current proposition and redefine it to ensure customers believe they are getting the best value, and their expectations and needs will be met.

Productivity

How do you measure your organisation’s productivity?

Dashboard’s, KPI’s and Management Reports are all helpful tools in measuring improvements in organisations efficiency, but you might like to consider:

Do you really understand what your numbers are telling you?

Are your numbers accurate?

Do those doing the measuring and presentation really understand why their work is important?

Are some parts of your organisation subject to more scrutiny than others?

Are you even measuring the right stuff?

Process

Business processes are defined as sets of activities and tasks that once they are completed produce an outcome. That outcome may be a customer deliverable, service or product or an in-house deliverable for example client on-boarding, staff recruitment or year-end accounts production.

Business processes by nature can become clunky and unwieldy, in larger organisations departments act in silos failing to grasp the benefits of integration, endless manual cycles cause time delays and reduce momentum.

Flow charts and process maps will help identify pinch-points, but strides forward will only be made as automation and digitalisation are allowed to take their place, freeing humans up to add value through creativity and innovation.

In this era of automation, companies that leverage the opportunities available to them will gain a competitive edge. Those who ignore automation and digitalisation, do so at their peril.

|

PerformanceNinja – helps organisations consider their core processes (how they deliver value) and their support processes (which make delivery possible), find the pinch-points, and develop automated solutions to enable increased productivity.

Getting to grips with processes is just one part of organisation success, along with getting people, purpose, proposition, productivity and potential aligned and understood – that is why our innovative 6P Strategy Model is so powerful. Get in touch for a no-obligation chat.

Potential

We often say that the sky’s the limit – but is it? Do you believe your organisation’s potential is beyond comprehension, or are you experiencing the proverbial glass ceiling?

Sometimes our limitations are perceived rather than actual, breaking down misconceptions and opening our eyes to possibilities will release potential across every part of your organisation. Sometimes as business managers and organisation leaders we are just so close to the problem that it obscures our vision, creating blind spots and causing us to focus on the immediate or the minutiae rather than the big picture.

As organisations pursue potential, it is fair to say that it is never reached – there Is always more, the sky is truly the limit.
